This 1192cc (commonly called 1200cc, 77mm x 64mm) Volkswagen Type 1 turnkey engine is a period-correct rebuild running 7.0:1-7.5:1 compression on a magnesium alloy case with a forged steel crankshaft and rods. It’s fitted with single-port cylinder heads, a single Solex carburetor, a mechanical distributor with breaker points, a 6-volt generator, and a 180mm 6-volt flywheel and clutch, with a belt-driven radial cooling fan.
